http://bit.ly/p5unig West Islip, NY (PRWEB) July 1, 2010 In time for the 4th of July celebration, the video production company, KidsPlay Unplugged, LLC, is proud to announce the launch of its new website http://ping.fm/skrw7 and the production of its new DVD series, ?Return of the Asphalt Angels.? The DVD's aim to be a revolutionary guide on how to recapture the innocence of children, to return to an era when child play was an integral part of the culture, handed down from one kid to another, generation to generation. In the first of the DVD series, ?Old-Time Classic Play?, younger kids team up with older kids who introduce them to such classic games as Red-Light Green-Light, Kick the Can, Duck Duck Goose and Hopscotch. The production is an obvious labor of love, capturing the innocence and delight of youth.
?Kids should be strongly encouraged to do what kids did back in the ?good old days,?? says producer and founder of KidsPlay Unplugged, Bob Totans. ?Kids should play to have fun with the freedom to decide what games they play and what rules are followed.?
Experts agree that children who use their imaginations, make up their own games and follow their own rules are better able to learn, are more independent and are in better control of their behavior and emotions.
Totans says that motivating children to play traditional games allows them to experience the simple thrill of running, jumping, hopping and skipping while positively impacting their physical, social, emotional and cognitive well-being. Encouraging children to engage in old-style imaginary play, without relying on store bought toys for props opens up new horizons and better prepares them for the future.
KidsPlay Unplugged is currently videotaping production footage in conjunction with the Nassau County Police Department Police Activity League. Parents who are interested in having their little asphalt angels featured in ?Old-Time Classic Play? productions are encouraged to visit http://ping.fm/CXrgE, email kidsplayunplugged@gmail.com or call 631-649-5998 for more details.
